If you don't enjoy it, don't watch it. Some people just don't like episodic shows, and there is nothing wrong with that.

That's what I do, that was my point [smile], I am familiar with how sitcoms are supposed to bring back the status quo ante at the end so each episode can be watched on its own, so what they do is valid, however I do give more value to shows that go the extra mile and keep things consistent and avoid retcon and breaking continuity.
Not as good as the earlier ones, but I still watch them.

One thing that annoyed me was how Farnsworth was against "robosexuals" when a couple episodes earlier he created Robot versions of Fry and Leela for each other.

I don't know, given how senile he is, I think it fits in perfectly with his character.

I have been watching them, although I feel the plots so far have been half baked. But the main thing is that they still have their funny lines, which is the reason I watch Futurama anyway.

I agree with the others who have pointed out the gigantic plot holes and history distortions (like with the universe restarting, people dying and replacements being accepted as the originals). But oh well, I will pardon this show and assume there is a Farnsworth explanation for everything.
I never had a problem with the huge scientific inaccuracies or plot holes in futurama...first of all, part of the humour in this show is that in some cases they are quite scientifically accurate, and then at the end go ahead and invalidate the whole thing with some outlandish explanation, at which point someone will point out, as have been said, "yeah that makes sense". Second, about the plot holes...this show is for those that look for good "geek" humour, not for the usual fanboi that obsesses over the timeline of a fictional cartoon when it just doesn't matter. There are very few arcs in the show that would benefit from continuity, the prime example being how Fry got in the future in the first episode and why. Continuity you say? Check out this screencap from the very first episode:

See anything familiar in there? :)
Seriously... you're complaining about plot holes and continuity in Futurama?! It's a fun animated show, with no pretence of depth. Have you not seen the Simpsons, where they deliberately reference the gaping inconsistencies?

Quote: DOUG: Hi. Question for Ms. Bellamy. In episode 2F09, when Itchy plays Scratchy's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes the same rib twice in succession, yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a... (sniggering) magic xylophone or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.

HOMER: I'll field that one. Let me ask you a question. Why would a man whose shirt says "Genius at Work" spend all of his time watching a children's cartoon show?

He probably picked up the idea from his ultraporn.
