So I recently got an internship at a local company (non game dev) and I feel like they are some of the best people around. The office is nice, clean and well stocked with drinks/snacks. My hours are flexible and pay is better than I expected. Am I very lucky or is this standard?

I'm currently at a summer REU. Not quite an internship, but it's shockingly nice--a good stipend on top of free housing, free meals, free travel, etc., not to mention being around really smart people all day and getting to work on something you enjoy with a large degree of freedom.
