Well, the Netherlands beated Uruguay and are now in the final. In the next semifinal most people are expecting Germany to win but Spain might give us a surprise.

Spain are a good side, but for me they haven't really 'got going' as it were; I think Germany will win, but if they do I think they will just edge it with something like a 2-1 score line.

What bothers me about this game is that I don't recall Spain being all that strong at the back, and Germany have shown they can dance through the defenese when required.

That said, their defense isn't that great either with a couple of problems I can vaguely recall from the last game so Spain might be able to exploit it.

Should be an intresting game to watch if nothing else...

(and having won £37.50 from a £5 bet on the 3rd goal of the Netherlands vs Uruguay match I might put some of that on Germany to win...)

Paul, the German "psychic" octopus, has predicted Spain to win tonight apparently.

He has supposedly been correct in 70% of cases but I personally think he's wrong on this one - given Germany's performance so far, they should beat Spain quite decisively I reckon.

(I know the whole psychic thing is bullshit, just thought I'd throw it in here to give us something light-hearted)
