Choice between 2 books
I have a problem here, Should I buy The Black Art of 3D programming or The Windows Programming Gurus book? both by Andre LaMothe. Currently I have The Black Art but I can easily trade it in for the other book within 30 days. This is my first intro into game programming and I don''t want to spend $50 on the wrong book...
"The Key To Creation Is Destruction"
"The Key To Creation Is Destruction"
Windows Gurus is really good, I think it is a bit newer than the other, but it is still getting awfully dated, esp with dx8''s cahanges to ddraw and all
Since I havent read ''The Back Art...'' I can''t really judge that book, but if you are new to game/directx programming, then I''d suggest that you get the other one. It''s great at explaining how to create 2d games. Beware though, it doesn''t cover 3d (even though the *hrm* cover says so.)
