background image in blender
Hey.
im trying to use an background image in blender as a rough guide for the model im trying to create. My problem is that as soon as i change the angle im looking at the model the image goes away. How can i tell blender to not make the image dissapear when i change the direction im looking from? im not trying to create whats in the image exactly and the object in the image is at an angle anyway.
Thnx in Advance!
I don't think you can do that, at least not in pre-2.5.
It's possible with a camera though.

It will stay as long as you are in Ortho views, and be removed when you rotate into random perspective views, which is expected behavior. Try out some of the tutorials on Blender Cookie for other methods...
You can also just cross two planes together, and put a background image on them (front and side) and then set those 2 objects to always be drawn in textured mode.
