Hey everyone, I'm looking into getting back into table-top style roleplaying. Particularly DnD style (but doesn't have to be DnD by any means) and Futuristic type 40kish. I've been out of the loop for nearly 6 years or so on this -- what are some great resources to get me back on my feet. What I'd like ... A good GM book Player book combat book good quality models, paints, paintbrush(es), terrain, building blocks, those square translucent sheets Whatever else I know I'm forgetting. I'm thinking about pouring a few hundred bucks into this, and (so) quality is important. If any of you have suggestions or direction, please let me know! I'll be heading to my local 'gameshop' to see what they have there as well.
Really is up to you for whatever style you want. If you feel like you'll be completely new then DnD4 might work for you. I run a campaign with some friends however the system is simplified way down for new players. Of course this led to outcries from the gamers that have played for years because of the simplicity of it. Of course, it would introduce you back into it nicely and might allow you to begin a campaign with new players who haven't ever played and are hesitant about it...

Thanks!

I purchased "Pathfinder" after going to a local game shop and got the 2 hour run down all of the versions, those released even before the moon was pulled into by the gravity of earth. ;)

My friends who will be RPing with me have extensive DnD experience so heading towards a non-arcade like table top (DnD 4) seems to be the best all-around situation.

Thanks for the response. The local help in my town is pretty incredible.
