Hi friends! Do you know something like MS Project but online or similar? I need something to manage a project with a couple of friends that live in a different city. Thanks a lot.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
What kind of budget do you have?

Not too much. It does not matter if we have to pay a few euros every month.

I tried TRAC, which is open source, but there is no gantt diagrams (in other words, a graphical way to see task dependencies)

Any idea?
Thanks a lot

We use a combination of Hansoft and JIRA for our project management; not cheap unfortunately, but it looks like they have decent license options for small numbers of users.

Interesting. I'm visiting both companies websites, and it seems what I was looking for. Hansoft seems better but I prefer something online, like.

Can I ask you why you use a combination instead only one of them?
Thanks.

What about dot project?. It's open-source and free, we use it in our company. There's a demo on their site.

All you'd have to do is get php hosting and host the dotproject web site there, which would be very cheap.

Hansoft is great for mapping individual people to a detailed plan of what they are doing; JIRA is great for keeping track of bugs and general tasks, along with details such as how to reproduce problems, screenshots, etc. etc. By combining them we can get good details and overviews on who is doing what, as well as good tracking of outstanding issues and wishlist-items.

I'm just a grunt programmer and not a manager, though, so maybe the management has a better idea of the exact reasons [wink]

Redmine. I have so far used it only for bug tracking purposes, so I can't give you a personal opinion how well it does for a project management. It might be worth trying.
Thanks for yor replies.
