You have to use the Unity Pro License for over $100,000 turnout per year? That's a really, really, strange clause, cause I don't think that anyone can enforce it that easily. I hope there aren't more clauses like that....

No, that's pretty standard for something like this and probably isnt' that hard to enforce either.

Frankly, if your company is pulling down +$100K a year shelling out a few $1000 isn't really a huge problem, even in a shop where the $100,000 is split 5 ways each coder would still end up taking $20k/year so dropping $1K is hardly a problem. Plus, as a company you might be able to cover it under R&D and do some funky tax stuff so that you basically don't end up paying for it anyway.
I guess I never thought of it that way Phantom. Wow,I'm really out of my league in when it comes to licenses and all. That's why I'm just me, just purusing some talents while I go through my highschool.

Torque has actually worked with a license like that for a long time. I think T3D uses a similar one as well. I don't know how easy it is to enforce, but when you are running a proper company, it is just best to play by the rules. A call center, for example, could pretty easily install bootleg copies of Windows Vista on all of their PCs. It would be unlikely that Microsoft would ever catch wind of it. However, all it takes is one disgruntled employee getting let go to blow the whistle, and you are in court facing penalties much larger than you ever would have spent getting licensed copies of Vista on all the workstations. It is just part of the license that should keep all studios who want to play it safe buying the right edition.
Is anyone else having problems downloading this? The link at:

http://unity3d.com/unity/download/

does nothing! :(

Try right clicking on it and clicking on save target as or your browser's equivalent for it.

Nope - doesn't work. Tries to save the .htm file :(

I think they've messed up their web page.

It works for me. I click the link, it takes me to a "thanks for downloading" page and the Firefox "Save file" dialog pops up. It looks like they're using Ajax though (presuambly to track the download) so maybe you've got &#106avascript disabled?
Yeah, definitely check your internet browser settings and your virus software settings. It may have disabled downloads. If it still doesn't work, well, all I can say is try a different computer or a different browser.

I downloaded, installed and registered it but I've yet to take a peer at it. I saw that it had video tutorials which would consume large periods of my time and direct attention, and instead decided I would rather learn by puttering around with it at a later date. I understand the forums have text tutorials submitted by members, so I'll take a peer at those.

Hate video tutorials. I do definitely want to experiment with it, and maybe do a future game with it since it seems to solve a lot of my annoyances with my own tools while avoiding significantly holding my hand.
Yeah, I hope to make a future game with it as well actually. It is a great tool, but at the moment, I'll stick with my current tools. I'll mess around with it and learn it later.
