Hello everyone I am in the process of starting a digital games outsourcing company. I have a small but great team and enough work currently to keep our team busy and marginally profitable. Yet with all business I need to be able to spend money to make money, so I am looking into securing some Venture Capital to grow the team and get some development time to create the marketing material that I need to be able to approach the big boys, to try and secure some work from them. My first round of VC discussions has gone well, but I need to produce a detailed business plan by the end of the next week. Well I feel my plan is solid, it is somewhat lacking in the facts and figures section. So I come to you just asking for gems of current facts and figure for our wonderful industry and any pearls of advice that any may have for me and my team.
Here is my pearl of wisdom...read, read, read, everyday:

www.gamasutra.com
www.industrygamers.com
www.gamesindustry.biz
www.virtualworldsnews.com
www.pocketgamer.biz

These are some of my favorites sites for game business news, but all the information you are looking for is out there on the internets if you apply some google queries. More important than finding random facts and figures is to know what type of information your investors will want. It is good to know the size of the industry, but you also need to define your company's position relative to the market, its cash flow potential, your competitors and the overall trends in the market that make investing in you such a good deal. All that allows the investors to evaluate the opportunity in a rational manner and makes you appear professional at the same time.

Good luck!
