Hey guys. I am starting a small project for a arcade like game (kinda like mega man) and i was wondering if anyone could maybe share some examples of simple human sprites or tutorials. I can sprite backgrounds and what not fine. I am just terrible at making monsters/humans/ect. Thanks in advance, Brandon

There are a lot of examples around the internet of sprites which have been ripped from well-known games, and in some cases made into animated gifs. Although it's of course not legal to use these directly, they are great as examples to study.

Or, if you want to go the more artistic route and just learn how to animate monsters and humans, the Muybridge books of photos of animals and humans in motion are a classic reference.
