Modeling Streets in 3ds Max

Hi I'm currently modeling a small city with 3ds max. I've no problems with modeling the buildings and other objects but I don't know a good way how to model the streets. Until now I just created a huge plane under the buildings and where I wanted the streets I just sliced the plane and extruded the streets down so that there is a sidewalk. The problem is of course if you want to make streets with bends. I don't know how to do that (I'm programmer not designer..) and another difficulty is how to texture a bent street. I suppose the easiest way is to texture the street when it's still straightforward and then bend it... I hope you know of a better way to model streets and how to texture them! Thanks
hmmm I found a way to do it but it's very time-consuming and I'm sure that it is a really bad way so if you know a better one, I'd still be very happy!!!

I start with creating a very long box that has the width of the street. Now I texture the box. Then I slice this box several times at the places where I want to bend the street and then I bend it (this is the worst part). After that I create a plane and substract the box from the plane using ProBoolean and thats it.

I hope it's clear what I'm trying...
