Im starting to write my graduation project for my bachelor's degree in computer science. My topic is "Advanced models of light sources in computer games". Im thinking about implementing a modified version of phong lighting into a game, where each light source is effected by its own shape. I would like to know if something like that has already been implemented and what do you think could be some of the difficulties that I could face. Also any other comments are welcome :)
bump :)
Any comments at all? I think discussing this with other people will make things clear because I'm totally lost right now.

Where each light source is affected by its own shape... you mean giving the light source its own shape, such as Renderman's Uberlight?
Thats exactly what I was looking for, thank you so much :)
It seems like Renderman's uberlight is not used in realtime applications such as games. I wonder if a similar system could be implemented into games, without the shadow controls ofcourse.
