Harsh review follows:
Objective: Cut it to one line. It is distracting to read.
Skills:
>> 6 years of programming experience
I don't see it. Where is your list of employers? When we talk of "experience", we mean paid full-time work experience. Time spent in the basement writing code doesn't count. (Except for very rare circumstances that don't seem to apply in your case.)
Again, 6-years... You graduated in *HISTORY* one year ago. That fails the BS detector.
>> C, C++, TorqueScript, and PHP.
Prove it. Show it with real examples of what you did. This must include dates and real verifiable employment, or verifiable projects you can show them for review.
>> Real-time rendering ... OpenGL and Direct3D ... GameMonkey ... TCP/IP and UDP ... multithreaded ... team projects
Again, where is the proof of all that? You have no jobs listed. You have no verifiable completed projects listed.
>> Torque Game Engine
What are the actual dates? Were you employed? If so, from when to when? If not, do you have verifiable references there? What exactly did you work on?
>> Star Wars Galaxies Emulator
Again, dates, names, and details. I see nothing to convince me that you actually did anything of the sort. "Lead developer"? How many people did you manage, and how did you do it?
>> Kupier, Orbit
Verification, please.
>> Education
You are a history major. You have no other education? You detailed no classes, no CS-related, or math-related, or physics-related education.
* Imagine I have a stack of applications in my email box.
* Imagine many of those applications come from people with Computer Science degrees, many followed by either work experience or good portfolios.
* Imagine I see your resume as a history major with no evidence of programming ability or education.
* Imagine how many milliseconds it will take me to discard your application based on a lack of evidence that you can do the job.
Unless you have some *huge* verifiable experience that you didn't specify, you will need to go back to school and get a Computer Science degree.
Requesting critique on my resume
Well, there are gonna be problems, then... I can't go back to school for financial reasons - no way I can afford it or the time.
I don't know how to prove that I worked on projects -- if demos are not sufficient nor is code, nor is a reference to other people I worked with on a project, what does qualify?
I don't know HOW to verify. I have binaries posted for a few projects, but I have no way of 'proving' that I wrote them....
