I am a relatively inexperienced PS3 gamer with just a few months of game play under my belt so I am not what you would consider a whiz with the controller in my hands. I have Call of Duty World at War and I recently started playing on-line. My favorite forum is Free For All primarily because I get my a** kicked (and my team’s a**es too) every time I play the team games. My rank is a Major now and my performance has improved but my kills to deaths ratio continues to be disappointing. Just last night I played a round on the map “Asylum” and had 1 kill and 19 deaths!...(this was awful even for me). A typical game for me will be 8 to 12 kills and 15 to 17 deaths. Once in a while I surprise myself with twice as many kills as deaths but I have yet to win a single round on Free For All. It baffles me how some soldiers can put up 30 kills and only 2 or 3 deaths in a round. Another thing that baffles me is how my 15 year old son wins CONSISTENTLY using the Springfield Sniper rifle? That gun gets me the worst results of all, yet he is deadly with it even when surrounded by machine gunners. What are the best weapons for each map? I have had some success with the MP40 and Thompson, but very little with the Type 100 and STG 44. The later seem to attract a LOT more attention due to the noise they make, and if I apply the suppressor they become pea-shooters with very little power. I have completely given up on the single shot rifles because they are useless to me in hand to hand combat. What are the best Perks oneach map? The Flak jacket has saved me from Bouncing Betty’s and grenades countless times, but I am inclined to trade it for the camouflage perk. When I had that awful round on the Asylum map it seemed as if everyone knew where I was hiding or running to. I felt like the entire lobby was after me! The Bouncing Betty’s are great but I think I have been shot while planting them more times than they have killed for me. Another problem I have is with the game itself. I have on countless occasions peppered my opponent with shots and yet he wins the confrontation and kills me. Often times the replay shows he barely even hit me. Is it due to shot placement? Has anyone else been frustrated by this? Also, the melee attacks seem to be inaccurate to me. Often times I will be killed by a melee and I am not even in the picture when the Kill Cam replays it, or sometimes I appear to be 10 feet away! It’s a good thing Sony made the controllers durable because I have bounced them off my coffee table a few times when this happens. LOL. Can some of you experts give this very frustrated guy some advice and maybe even help me someday WIN a match or two?

1) Aim for the head
2) Keep moving
