I''m not sure which to buy. I only want to program in C++ so I don''t care about the VB or j++ stuff. I think it said that there are other things in studio that aren''t in plain C++. Are they worth the extra cost?
You don''t want the non C++ stuff. "They say that there are other things in studio that aren''t inplain C++" - like VB, Visual FoxPro, VisualJ++, Visual SourceSafe, etc. And yet you ask.

Sorry, I''m just starting to get cranky at what I consider redundant questions. but (politely) unless you were otherwise planning to buy two or more components of Visual Studio, it''s not worth the cost.

I found this web page after maybe four clicks in msdn:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/prodinfo/features/features.asp

It tells you all of the various features of the different components of Visual Studio. Note that if you just buy Visual C++, you will still get an MSDN CD.

I was mainly asking about the SourceSafe and a couple of the other non language things, I said I didn''t want other languages, not that I didn''t want all the extras, but looking at that chart again (yes I looked myself earlier) I see that it is only in the enterprise edition anyway. Ok thanks.
