"Which 3D modeller to use?"- The most commonly asked question needs an article....
Hey guys.
I read thouse replies, have seen alot of this discussion b4 and mostly never ending nice. Thought of what to post or if I should post at all to a topic with 80 replies, but here's what i think...
First of all, this topic should be disallowed- In forums like CGtalk* it is a non allowed topic as it almost never has a common agreement.
Answer ( in my opinion ) to the question posted :
Maya - owns most of Tv industry - commercials, documentals, LOTR.( smell monopolism - sony, alias, ea? )
MAX - owns most of game industry and highest plugin support.
LW - most powerful modeler. Proof - www.3d02.com
Softimage - complite package by Avid.
Summary - If you want to get payed, stick with apps used most. Noone's gonna ask you, if you know truespace. Also thouse 4 mentioned programs are complite, they dont have too great advantages over one another.
Note : Maya PLE for studients avalable for DL.
Take care all
