well i just learned a life lesson
ok i am wanting to make a game and i project at a bare minimum of 10 years before publication of my game people that i have recruited want the game out sooner less then 5 years seeing how i am doing this with barely any grade school knowledge and no collage knowledge.
that they are wanting to rush very much being a gamer my self and played not all but some what of a fair bit i have seen to many times even the major companies are very much rushed before haveing a good beginning or good send off of a game.
i heard that some games out there now are not great as they said it would be why is because they were rushed i intend not to rush and to take my time about doing a good beginning/send off.
and i thought i was alone when started doing this game of mys now i really know that i am and i even more now convinced that if i ask for help people will not be willing to wait they will be in rush mode.
i am sorry that i sound like a drama unsolvable case but maybe this advice will help others know if they want to do a proper game and care about a good beginning/send off know what they are up against i hope they will find this post and read my story.
this will not stop me from makeing my game because i know what type of game i want it is going to be a historical game in ww2 military conflict only no racial crap in it.
it takes time to do a proper game and even more so a reasonable beginning no one should ever feel that they have a dead line to meet when someone does a job in the gameing pc industry they sign up to do something cool and something that they enjoy.
but it is hard to enjoy something that you like to do if your rushed on some one else's own accord i know that's how it works but people that does this sort of stuff should enjoy it life is to short not to enjoy it.
ok sorry for the drama i am done with the drama now.
I hope the next life lesson you learn teaches you something about grammar.
10 years is a hell of a long time.
5 years is a hell of a long time for a game
1) Hardware changes every few months. New consoles have maybe a 5-9 span between them.
2) Games take time and effort proportional to the complexity of code, and complexity of content. But remember that all time spent is counting against your target platform's lifetime. But if you can pump out ONE full game in 2 years, and then make marginal improvements to the base code and ship a new game in 8months you've save yourself all the effort of having to learn the next new platform inorder to be a success.
3) Living is expensive. That makes paying people to make a game expensive. And there is only a limited market, and a limited sales window. So games intended to sell 1million units get 1million units worth of budget, and that can only fund developers for so many months. A game might be rushed, but that is all the development time the market allows.
Well, *bubble burst*, but maybe you should just put your "dream game" on the back burner. Learn to really make good small games first. Build prototypes of different parts of your dream game. Get the knowledge down before trying to find people to go on a full adventure with you. Maybe your game can't be made for another 10 years, but it probably won't take more than a few months to make a prototype once you know what you are doing. The time isn't spent on "the game" it is spent on "content" for the game. That is to say, unique art, AI, scripts, and level setups.

Seconded. If the primary reason that your game is going to take so long to complete is because you lack the knowlege which would allow you to complete it in a resonable time frame, then you should instead concentrate on smaller goals.
Your 1st goal might be to learn a programming language.
Your 2nd goal might be to learn that language well :)
Your 3rd goal might be to make a simple text-based game.
Your 4th goal might be to learn core principles (algorithms, data structures).
Your 5th goal might be to learn 2D graphics principles.
Your 6th goal might be to learn a graphics API like SDL, Direct2D or OpenGL.
Your 7th goal might be to make a simple 2D game.
Your 8th goal might be to learn 3D graphics principles.
Your 9th goal might be to make a simple 3D game.
At that point, you *might* be ready to undertake your dream game in a reasonable amount of time.
Also, frankly, if you haven't managed to do 1 through 9 on your own, you are not fully equipped to participate in, let alone lead, a team.

to funny to me my own country men loves to be so negative so glad i let it go in one ear and right out the other good to know that my own country men still loves to live in the black and white world of roads to no where.
feels that our country is still the beginning and the end of all things as well the center of the universe when it comes to this world.
no time or room for new thinking no color thinking to my own country men if your going to be negative and pretend to be perfect and not act like a human it is a fultile attempt to try to reason with me let alone posting your sorry sad replays.
oh and goggle tool bar uses the british language that's why my grammar fails each and every time but your smart you knew that right?
but that's right if you did use sense to figure that out then you would not be telling me i have a grammar problem the amusing thing to me is you did not take time to think about it good enough.
my country is U.S. born in twin fails idaho if my country men wants to question my citizenship.
to Ravyne and KulSeran i have played 8 mmorpgs out there on the market maybe some more and others that i have heard about did not start with a reasonable beginning players now and days is looking for someone to be crafty to be risky and out of them all to bring change to get off of the WOW band wagon pattern style game plan.
and its a very unfortunate thing that they believe unrealistic things can be possible but at the end of the day they are the ones that are paying the money it is no different from when you buy cloths, food, or anything else.
you want it to be made right be perfect and to work flawlessly and if you don't take my word for it you can go to this link and monitor the forums for like 2 or 3 weeks and you will know what i am talking about.

Dude...it's not because people are negative. It's because even an ameteur can see that any project that needs that long to develop you can't do it with the way your grammar is and any game that's going to take that long that doesn't need it shows that you can't do it by the shear basis that you are thinking you need that much time.
And as far as "country" America is a fairly upbeat and laid back country. If you can't make it in America in gaming you sure as hell aren't going to make it in Japan or anywhere...ok maybe Russia might take you, but most anywhere else.
So "Twin Fails" seems so appropriate of a typo...

But...but...you lack punctuation marks!
I don't see how a fellow US citizen making remarks on your grammar have to do anything with the integrity of the US. You just need to present yourself more professionally, is all.

Completely agree here, the problem isn't your "Country Men" attacking you, its that what you have wrote (in both posts) is borderline unreadable. If you can't clearly state what you want, you can't get anywhere making games. Unless you plan on doing 100% of everything for your project. So therefore meaning that unless you take the time to actually clearly stating what you want to say, then why should anyone take the time giving you a full response?

But when I read that text I have no idea where one sentence ends and the next begins, making it extremely hard to comprehend your meaning.
