I was just wondering, how many people here are either A) involved in FIRST currently or B) was involved in FIRST in the past or C) have an intrest in watching the competitions. I was also wondering how FIRST has affected your proffesional career.

(A google search gives me links to First Hotels, First Class, "Facts on International Security Trends", First North, and a bunch of similar stuff)

I'm going to guess he's talking about For Inspiration in and Recognition in Science and Technology. I did FIRST last year. It was pretty cool, I'm glad I did it. It hasn't affected my professional career because I'm only 18 and don't have a professional career. I don't think it will affect my professional career either.

My friends have pretty much dedicated their entire free time to FIRST (the robotic and science thing). I tried it out and just don't feel that I should do that much work when I have to work with someone who considers that their source code should be "fun" to read.
They have a blast and I think that depending on your sponsers you could get scholarships.

If I remember correctly a lot of scholarships are for just being in the program. I'm sure there are sponser-based scholarships as well.
