commissioning 3D art for games

I suppose one can go to deviant art when one wants to have some drawings done for a game, but what if you want to have a 3D character/model made for a game? Is there a more 3D-dedicated site than deviant art with plenty of user-base, where you can see their works (for the purposes of shopping)?
There's always www.turbosquid.com a 3d-model/animation/texture market place to buy (not only) game related art. The prices are okay (even if it cost several 100 $, but for good quality you have to pay higher prices). There're free models too. If you want to get some custom model, try to contact one of the artists.

You will find an other nice game model community at www.polycount.com.
