- Get Vienna or some other SoundFont editor.
- Record samples (if you don't have a mic, then plug in direct WITH amp simulation. Record dry. You can add in effects from the software and make adjustments it in real time.)
- Create your Sound Font.

What do you mean by sound font, what is it used for and how do i create my own?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but i am still a very early beginner :)

Here's some more info...

It's basically a sound bank that can be loaded onto a synthesizer or sampler. Although meant for hardware (E-mu based systems according to Wikipedia), it's also supported by some software synths and virtual studio software. It makes sample/wavetable usage fairly easy and you can usually load these samples straight from .wav files edited in other programs like Audacity. Although it offers quite a bit of options, loading samples (in this case, guitar samples) is usually very straightforward.

I guess I see your point. I guess to me the comment was a bit odd because there will always be more amateurs than pros in almost every situation.

I just don't believe most of the demos out there for these types of software reflect the full potential of what they can produce. At least on the Propellerheads forums, Reason isn't really viewed as an Orchestral-capable program. I feel alone walking in those forums when I log on a few times per month lol
