If I had been around for this contest, I probably wouldn't have written something that fit the scene from the "veiwers" point of view.

The music would fit the general locale and the instruments used would fit their society's technological achievements or perhaps their deep connections with long-standing traditions, or perhaps there would be a specific new instrument some mathematician had just invented as the centerpiece. The potentially upbeat music would serve to underscore just how dark and seedy this tavern is, and perhaps say something about some of their people's optimism in a lackluster part of history.

I haven't had the chance to listen to these tracks, just putting in my two cents.
If you're interested, I have two sites to refer you to:http://www.myspace.com/artimusbenaThis is my game/instrumental musicAndhttp://www.myspace.com/fiveredlacesThis is the experimental rock music you will probably enjoy if you like any band that has the balls to write original stuff.
I had forgotten about this! I meant to leave some comments after having listened to other compositions...I will hopefully do this next time! Well done to the winners.
