missing export
I downloaded Maya and when I go to set it up an error message pops up and says " The VCSETUP.EXE file is linked to a missing export NTDLL.DLL:NtShutdownSystem " can anyone tell me how to fix this.
You posted this in Game Design, but I'm thinking Visual Arts could help you more, so I'll move this there.

This problem, strangely enough doesn't seem related to Maya specifically. After feeding the line "NTDLL.dll:NTshutdownsystem" (among others) through google it seems it can happen to a number of other unrelated files as well. Some sites suggest cleaning house, such as running anti-virus/spam/spyware programs, deleting any unnecessary files/programs and accumulated junk, and downloading all the latest updates (including SP2 and/or Windows NT4 patch).
I'd like to be more specific, but available materials seem somewhat vague on the subject. Hopefully someone else may chime in with more helpful/relevant information.
Edit: Additionally, what operating system are you using? You maybe getting this error because your running an older version of windows (98/ME).
