Try searching the programming resources page for Game Programming Genesis (except spell genesis correctly ) and read it from begning to end. All the code don''t work, but It will help you a lot.

2D and RPG are two entirely different topics.

If you want to know how to make an RPG I''d recommend looking at the source to either Pimp''s Quest or DrugWars for the TI-85. Both are written in BASIC which makes the code pretty much self explainitory. Both are for the TI-85 which means the code is short and to the point. You can download Pimp''s Quest at The Rabbithole or at Ti-calc.org DrugWars is only available at ticalc.org.

If you want to know how to do 2D graphics, you should go to
The Rabbithole and download the DX7 SDK if you don''t already have it and then get "Isometric Game Programming with DirectX 7"
