Wanting to create a level editor for a tile-based 2D game... is MFC a good choice? It seems that the job might be a heck of a lot easier using MFC, but i''m just wondering if anyone has any experienced input... Thanks! "You call him Dr. Grip, doll!"

I for one used Visual Basic -- but I used VC++, ATL and DirectX for the graphics engine part of it.

The program I''m speaking of, though, might even be an entire solution for what you want to do! Check out the Scrolling Game Development Kit, either at the homepage or in the GD Showcase. It''s open source so you can see how/where it stores maps, or you can export your maps as XML and use that to convert them into your own format. It was made to be a level editor for tile-based 2D games... and it''s got a load of features.
