Hi, When I spoke to some people, a lot told me that OpenGL was better than Direct3D, the only advantage they pointed out to me was that openGL is portable. Although this is the case don''t we all still see a lot Direct3D games being made and not OpenGL, so I am still wondering which is better to use and what are advantages and disadvantages of both. P.S. :- At present I am not looking at achieving portability.

I think you''ve got your answer. Personnaly I prefer DX over OGL. But it''s all a matter of taste.

OpenGL has two main advantages: hardware accelerated extensions and inter-operating system portability. Other than that, it is all your opinion about which API you should use.

Yep. It''s all opinion if you''re not worried about portability.

Does anyone ever search the message board for OGL v. DX?
