Using Soundblaster(or any soundcard)

You all may laugh at me for asking how to use old technology, but how might I use a soundcard in a DOS program? I use Borland C++ 4.52 and know about using PC speakers, but I don''t know how to use sound cards. Please answer if you can help me. Thanks.
Using the SB directly is like using a video card directly in DOS with interrupts and registers and such... if you want to go through all that get some docs from www.soundblaster.com, or if you want there are some good libraries out there that are pretty fast and efficient, specifically sblib, woudn''t know where you''d find it though.
