>>1. What made you decide to become a computer programmer?

When I was 7 I would look for things to do that I could and my friends couldn''t. When I started learning BASIC back then it was cool. And I started enjoying it.

>>2. How did you learn to program computer games and what degree do you need to get into the programming field?
I used to go on BBSes and ask people who knew better than me. I mostly started making game-clones with 80x86 assembly. I would try to remake pong, tertis, etc.

>>3. How old were you when you started programming games?
I was 8 when I was just messing around. After highschool and college I was 19 when I started full time.

>>4. Is it really difficult to find a job in computer programming?
As long as you know what you''re doing and have good credentials and demos of your work it can be easy.

>>5. How much of your time do you spend programming your games?
Its a full time job.

>>6. How much money do you make a year?
Game programmers make a huge variaty of salaries.

>>7. Is it easier to work by yourself and why?
It can be easier because you''re writing the code and no one knows better than you why you did something one way rather than another. However if you''re working with many people you can break down the code and develop segments. Just make sure that you all stick to one ''style'' of coding.

>>8. What things do you not like about your job and is it a really hard job?

>>9. Do you enjoy your job in general and what do you like best about your job?
Its a lot of fun. There is usually a laid back environment.

>>10. Where can I find the most useful written material on computer programming?
One of the best places is here on GameDev. I still come here weekly to check for new stuff.

Employee of Midway Games.
