Help with the Gimp interface
Hey,
I'm trying to setup my gimp to an intuitive interface for when I work on some pixel art. Photoshop Elements 4 is lacking too many features so I decided to find an alternative.
That being said I'm really liking it so far but I would really like to set it up so that my toolbar and the layers window stay "always on top" even if my image window is maximized. I've googled it and found a few solutions but none of them for windows or the ones good enough for windows lead to 404s [sad]
Any help is appreciated [wink]
Hi sanch3x. I'm new here, and I've used some paint programs that are easier, and sometimes more cusomizable than gimp. I have gimp too, but I don't use it that often. This is because I prefer the following:
Paint.net - a free and very easy paint program. It can be expanded through plugins.
Here's the link:
http://www.getpaint.net/download.html
Paint Shop Pro 8 - one step up from Paint.net, but is more customizable, and has way more features. I could only find it at amazon.com from amazon.com individual sellers, and it was listed as an old version.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I have used Jasc's software back in highschool (quite a bit ago) but even though it is much cheaper than photoshop it is too expensive for what I am using it for. I was using PS Elements 4 because I got a copy of it when I bought my wacom.
The gimp has proven to be great and though I'm open to suggestion (I will look into paint.net) if I was able to make my toolbar stick to the top then I would be set for a long time :)
