Hello. I am now starting on my first game project, a pre-rendered rts. I was wondering what is the best option for making rts sprites. Should i just draw them in 3ds max and render them from the eight different angles or should I draw them up in photoshop? The game is going to be modern military ( not medieval ) so the main units are going to be artillery. Thank you.
Are you going for speed of content generation or what looks better?

If you're going for speed, which way are you able to turn out quality sprites faster?

If you're going for looks, which way produces the best looking sprites?

I'm going for what looks better, its going to futuristic and most units are going to be stationary ( like a long-range cannon etc ). I think i might try 3ds max. Thanks:)
Be sure to render in orthogonal mode, and if you can, write a script that renders the model from all angles you need with just a single button click. It'll make the process much easier.

Ok thanks, I don't know much script but I will look into it.
