Hello! One of my friends and I are trying to develop a game together. We might look for a couple others later on but right now we want the basics done. What we need help with are some characters and weapons, vehicles, etc. Our main story line originated from Halo (don't blow your pants off yet), but it has taken two dramatic twists since then. Right now, the story goes, a government scientist on a barren planet, has been experimenting on newly discovered animals on new planets, and ones from Earth. (this is set far in the future) These animals somehow we are still working this part out, get mutated and destroy the secret facility. They escape on a rescue team's ship and kill the team. Later they are found by the main character and begin to wage war against the humans. Then real aliens come in and make the war three way. (motives are still in the making) What we need help with is we only have basic human weapons and very few mutant and alien weapons names and designs. we are not asking you to go out and draw or model some amazing laser, we just need some ideas. The other thing we need are vehicle concepts. Please do not take to long on this because we would feel really bad if we couldn't call this game our own. Please only concepts or sketches. Thank You Peter
You could read _The Island of Doctor Moreau_

I want to help design a "sandpark" MMO. Optional interactive story with quests and deeply characterized NPCs, plus sandbox elements like player-craftable housing and lots of other crafting. If you are starting a design of this type, please PM me. I also love pet-breeding games.

how are you supposed to create a game, when youre stuck at design problems?

you should make the storyline more detailed.
make a descriptional text about each species.
decide on an overall design ( realistic, cartoony etc )

and then these things should come pretty automaticly.

another way would to use turbosquid, they have some free weapon models
I agree with LackOfGrace. Your first priority should be to work out where your game is going, and what you want it to look like. I'm sure there are lots of people who would be happy to help you, but first they'll need a good idea of what you want. In addition, if you get all these cool ideas it may make your game a lot less clear as you try to count-in all the cool looking weapons.

As for HALO... I don't like it a lot, but it's a solid game... if not complicated. So good luck adding your own chapter. Personally I'd try to come up with my own setting, but either way I'm sure you'll have a good time and learn a lot.
