Where can I find free sprites for use in personal progs
Hi I used to have a gamedev account and used the forums many times a year or so ago but re-registered. (I loved this site at that time as its thanks to a mature community mentality at the time I got my first game done --- pong and I did it in an OO way in C++)
Anyway I want to try my hand at making a basic basic space game. I know its a huge undertaking. Basically initially I want sprites for the 2d ship animations and a black space background(I could probably manage this :)) with 1 drawing 2d of a single planet and all that happens is the ship can fly around on this black space background and when it hits the planet the collision detection kicks in and just bounces the ship back or something.
Im a long way off this but I was wandering if anyone knows of a site that has very simple 2d sprites drawn that I can use for my game.
1 planet and 1 ship to start off with and not complicated sprites , just 2 or 3 frames worth per sprite or something.
Thanks!

I have a soft spot for SpriteLib. Probably because we did a SpriteLib competition here.
thanks very much for the prompt reply :) Im actually going to bite the bullet and try doing my game in direct x this time. I actually spent some time on osdev net and built an uber basic OS so Im hoping thats got my ugly code braincell working better lol
I will definatly check whats posted here out asap!

Here that spritelib looks good :) , Im also sure I just saw in one of the google results that theres more referance to this kind of thing in the gamedev FAQ. (My bad! Its been a while since Ive used the site :) )
