how do you add a banner ad to an application?
how do you add a banner ad to an application? i don''t want to use mfc. i found some examples but they used mfc, i''m just using win32. i want to do something like they had in napigator or file navigator.

You would have some form of bitmap control that is loaded after downloading stuff via Winsock or the internet "GetFile" utilities. Maybe even use the CWinSock class to do stuff easily.
On a side note, ad banners are evil. They allow corporations and businesses to poke their 0.02$ everywhere on the internet. I would recommend keeping away from them entirely, because they are de-evolutionizing what the internet could be (an information uber-highway)... instead they make it a gimmick to peddle their wares no better than what a door-to-door salesman would.

After just working on ad banners at my last game job I agree completely. I would argue and argue but the pinheads were convinced that if they put friggin ads in every game (and on every screen) the games would be more ''marketable.''
