Can you use DirectX 7 functions from DirectX 8? I''m trying to use DirectX 7 at school, but the cd we had here is now lost, and my teacher is going to download DirectX 8. I''d rather not use 3D and just stick to 2D for now. If you can use DirectX 7 functions from DirectX 8, how do you access them? Thanks for any help you can provide.

DirectX8 is backwards compatable with DX7. Also, you can work with 2D is DX8. The full SDK has samples of this.
