Wrote a simple GL program to show a rotating texture map cube, similar to one of the early Nehe tutorials, added a FPS counter, it shows approx 16 FPS. The drivers are the most recent and claim Open GL support and the PC is a PIII 800, Are the ATI card/drivers really this bad?
I have the same card and play 3D games just fine. Something else might be up (*ahem* your code). C''mon, it''s just a simple rotating textured cube. Maybe you didn''t code your FPS counter correctly.

I''m not sure how fast the ATI Rage is, but it is a fairly aged card, so I wouldn''t expect too much out of it.

shouldn''t be THAT slow... unless maybe in win2k.

Code is fine. As I said just simple texture mapped cube,

runs at over 1300 FPS on Geforce 2 MX,
How does the nehe tut version run on your ATI card?

It must be the code. I have a Rage 128 and am using win2k, and I am getting about 45 fps on a 800x600x32 window with about 20 texture filled objects.
