i have cool edit pro but i want to be able to record audio from an youtube clip so in other words i'll have a window that have you tube open and cep open also and then i'll press play on youtube and then record on cep!!!!please help sgreen89@yahoo.com
If you are using windows, there's a handy configuration you can set. You need to open your advanced sound configuration screen (the one with a lot of sliders). Then you'll click Options, put the radio button in Record mode, and click the checkbox to enable the Stereo Mix. That means that you can now record the stereo mix of you Soundcard, if you wish.

I don`t know how CEP works, but you should have an option to record from Microsoft`s Sound Mapper (I don't know it's correct name in english). Then just click record, and you'd be recording whatever your sound card is reproducing at the moment. Wich would mean, for example, sound from a youtube clip or whatever.

Hope this helps. Good luck,

Anything you can hear on your computer (if it goes through your sound card), you can record it.
No extra software necessary.

Windows XP:
Start | Programs | Accessories | Entertainment | Sound Recorder

Although it is as basic as you can go.
... what they said + Cool Edit 2 is cool
