Dark Basic
Does anyone try this Dark Basic thing? How it is? How about the speed of it?
Don''t use it, just go for an established language like C/C++, Delphi, et cetera is my advice. It isn''t Win2K compatible anyway, and scripting languages will never be as adaptable or fast as compiled-at-some-point languages.

Yeah, but I think it's a good thing for younger people, just to learn to program and to have interest in programming. It's really easy to learn, and you can do pretty amazing things in really quick time. If you want to cultivate the interest of your child for programming, DarkBasic is good. C++ is a lot better but it's longer to understand and to have a good enought understanding of the language to make something good (outside dos)... I prefer C++ for myself, but for someone like my yound brother, I think he'll learn a lot more things in a lot less time and when he'll find out that DarkBasic is too slow for him, he'll pass at a next stage.
