Game Design Template
Hey Guys,
In the industry there really doesnt seem to be a uniform temaplate for writing game design documents. The template i use seems to be evolving as i get more experienced and work on different genres. To get the ball rolling, do any of you guys have a template you work off? And if so i''d like to start posting some templates so everyone can have a look at them.
We''''ve got the sausage but we haven''''t got the sizzle.

Here's mine:
-Title-
-Executive Summary-
Short, concise description that even executives can comprehend. Kinda like the TV Guide show blurbs
-Table of Contents-
-Gameplay-
General summary of how the game plays
-Story / Backstory / Setting-
-Gameplay Details-
Step by step detail of the features, how they work, and all mechanics in the game
-System Requirements-
-Interface/UI-
List of all the screens and interface information
-Asset Requirementss-
Ballpark figure of graphics, sound, and music assets. Details usually get saved for a seperate doc, which contains an exhaustive list & covers stuff like script (if applicable)
-AI-
Exactly what is required of AI, step by step
-Technical Assessment-
Brief list of technologies and risks associated with them. Details usually are in a seperate doc.
