gluLookAt() or translations and rotations ??

Hi, I was just wondering if there is any advantage in using gluLookAt() rather than changing the view with a sequence of rotations and translations. When I say advantage I mean with respect to the internal workings of OpenGL. In fact is there any real difference (performance wise)... ??? Thanks [-T-] Out

glulookat has an advantage of prolly being easier to understand.
the disadvantage of requiring the glu library.

performance wise? nothing in it
