I cannot export anything for use in DirectX 9.0c. kw-xport doesn't work. It freezes everytime I export and crashes :( IS there any other option :(
I have used Pandas and it worked.

It works but when I double click the x file it crashes each time. I even unchecked everything still crash. Why does this have to be so difficult.
Whilst you might be working with the DirectX API, questions regarding content creation (and the relevant tools) are more for the 'Visual Arts' forum. Maybe someone there can offer some advice on how to configure 3DS Max (you don't specify which version though [wink]) to do the job.

Also, if you're willing to put a bit of effort in you don't have to use the .x format - you could find or write a .3ds parser that loads data in 3DS Max's preferred format. Might even be able to map that to an ID3DXMesh so that you still use all the D3DX mesh processing functions.

what do you mean by double click? i thought you were just exporting?
if so then what steps are you doing for exporting? name the exact menus and all buttons you're using. it may just be a problem with your exporting procedure, or your 3ds max install is screwed up which can also happen.

Well I'm using 3DS Max 9. I got the X file exported. Double clicking the X file to open it up in DXViewer. It doesn't show unless I enable the less precision in the debug part. Then I try using it in a project. And it doesn't even load. I know the code works cause I copied and paste it from a tutorial and used their X model file and it works.
