Well, Having survived the U and it''s Linear Algebra class, I''d also recommend that you pick up a copy of Schaum''s Outline of Matrix Operations(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0070079781/qid=985988087/sr=1-14/ref=sc_b_15/104-1784489-9716710) and/or Schaum''s Outline of Theory and Problems of Linear Algebra (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0070380074/ref=sim_books/104-1784489-9716710). While I haven''t used the first one, it does look good. But the second one was my constant companion while taking my class - it helped me a great deal. Good luck.

Look for a good book on algebra and matrices
Howdy,
I''m half way through second year Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, I''d be happy to point you at some of the text books I used in first year.
Having recently gone through the jump from high school to waterloo I''m aware of the big difference in material and approach to linear algebra... and you will be too![](smile.gif)
High school looks at it in a completely different way than university courses will, so sometimes it''s really hard to tell if they are talking about the same thing!
Anyway, I don''t have the titles of the books on me here at work, but I''ll try and look them up to post for you tonight when I get home. They should help you quite a bit with linear algebra, I know they helped me.
Oh, and just so I can toot the old UofW horn a little... Waterloo is still one of the best schools for math in the world, in fact we have the only faculty of math in North America. In most contests for math and engineering we put up competition for schools in the US such as MIT, Berkely (sp?), etc etc etc..
I''ll try and dig up those books, have fun!
