Well Lucifer simply wanted to break Michael's spirit by removing his most loved apprentice. Michael, the strongest being in heaven, could easily deal with Lucifer but the removal of Corbin weakens his faith. So in short, Lucifer makes sure Michael can't fight him effectively and that he won't go on a daring quest of revenge killing everything in sight since Corbin didn't die. What he doesn't anticipate is that Corbin would find the strength to fight Lucifer himself. =D

To Munky : Ohhh! lol. Well I've been researching as much as I could about the events of that time since I started this project and still I'm not totally sure what the story of Satan and Lucifer are. Paradise Lost says Lucifer and Satan are one and the same and that he and the other angels fell around the time Jesus was pronounced the true Son of God.

From other sources I've gathered that Lucifer was the first angel to fall. But also a sect of Guardian Angels fell before Noah's time (Ark, flooding..etc..) known as the Grigori who were to watch over the progress of man. Somehow they found themselves taking human forms and getting with human women making giants which are supposed to be the cause of the Great Flood which purged the human race of this monstrocity. If that's the case, Lucifer fell way before Jesus came.

I've also gathered from dozens of sources that Lucifer and Satan are in fact 2 different angels. One being the Angel of Light, the Seraphim with 12 wings, God's most perfect creation closest to himself - Lucifer. The other known as the Accuser, the one who finds faults within people and expliots them through any means, usually temptation - Satan. Lucifer was supposed to have influenced Satan to be his second in command before both of their falls.

So that puts my storyline around 200 years before the flood and will span to the time of the flood. Human-kind is just starting to emerge and become its own but it's now being hindered by the demons. The Grigori are further corrupting them, by letting lose their giant savages to ravage the earth. So you got a lot of work to do.

About Hell....I'm thinking it'll be newly created at this time and Lucifer will appoint his own Heirarchy since the fallen angels dropped their previous titles of Archangels, Seraphim, Cherubs, etc..Following the Monarchy type structure they appointed Lucifer as Emporer of Hell. 4 Kings representing 4 elements, directions, and sins. Presidents, Dukes, Marshals, Marquises, etc..

Each rank controls a certain number of Demons, known as Legions. Legions have 6 demons each. Higher the rank, the more Legions they control. So Kings may control 200 Legions each while a Marshal may control 2.

Demons are getting a little hard to explain. I think demons will mostly be the majority of the fallen angels who were weak in power, so they became easily corruptable upon entering the depths of hell. While the more stronger angels (Satan, Lucifer, Balam, etc..) kept their forms but took on a more darker appearance.

As Corbin you were a Seraphim in Heaven, the highest ranking of angel. But being dragged to Earth seperated you from God and dampened your powers. So it degraded Corbin to just a normal Angel. Defeating demons, certain quests, and fallen angels gives you Merit. Merit raises Beatitude, Beatitude raises your rank and power in the Angelic Heirarchy.

First Hierarchy *Highest*:

Seraphim
Cherubim
Thrones or Ophanim

Second Hierarchy:

Dominions or Kyriotetes
Virtues or Dynameis
Powers or Exousiai

Third Hierarchy *Lowest*:

Principalities or Archai
Archangels
Angels

The first thing I noticed is the attention to detail to the religious details. That's pretty nice.

Other than that, the only thing I can think of is a game kinda like "Devil May Cry" dressed in white. I'm pretty sure that's not a bad thing, but I would make sure there's a little gunplay in there for the fun of it.
