Organizing RPG Design Document
I've decided a different approch to my design doc. Instead of a word doc, Im doing it in html, so it can be viewed in the browser. I do this so a link can be clicked and the design doc will be more handy. Ive been adding to the table of contents, trying to figure more ideas, what do you think? This "offline design doc site" will break down exactly how combat will work, types of instances, (ie critical, scrape, dodge, block, miss, ect). Also it will discuss the forms of governments of nations on the worlds. All of the monsters will be listed, and show stats, all the weapons, basically everything will be here. http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/3374/1hw1.png http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/8458/2mu6.png

We use a wiki for our design docs: everyone (that has access to the wiki) can view them, comment on them or modify them (and just in case someone messes up, the wiki keeps track of changes). Plus, the wiki allows formatting and is far easier to update than a plain html file. :)
Nice look there with your document, though it looks more like a site than a design doc. I'd invest some time in creating images that actually make things clear, like movement scheme's and environment/theme sketches rather than fancying up the look of it. But yes, a design doc that's centrally accessible and easier to navigate and update is a good idea. You don't want multiple versions littered across the desks of different people, or bookworks nobody ever reads. :)
