Device Contexts
Does anybody know how to make a device context which uses colors? It seems that every device context I make is monochromatic. I am using the CDC class in MFC if that helps any.

That depends on what you're trying to do...
If you're editing things like cursors in the little editor, what you need to do is click on the little button just above your picture with the paper and the screen over it (or go to Image->New Device Image)
This will bring up your device contexts.
There will only be monochrome, probably...
Click the "custom" button and make it the color depth and size you want.
Now... this is the important part... chose the "monochrome" device context in your dropdown... and delete it using Image->Delete Device Image. This will leave your color device image as the default.
Remember that you can save and import pallettes in your resource editor if your colors turn out all weird... PSPro will save them for you (be sure to save as MS format of course) not sure if normal MSPaint will.

If this isn't what you're trying to do... be more specific *smile*
