We are some students at the university, who need some material about data-compression. The problem is, that we can´t find any GOOD and FREE (we are poor) resources, so we hoped some of you guys (and girls) would help. We have already grapped the articles at gamedev, but it´s not enough ): ~BB~
You can look at ZLib, it''s a cross platform compress and extraction library that is open source. It is based off of the Lempel Ziv compression algorithm, like most compression is . Here''s another thing you might want to look at: http://chesworth.com/pv/technical/file_compression.htm

Thanks the sites where just what I needed, but I´ll still need some info about the .zip (and if possible .arj) format.

So if anybody knows where to go, please help.
(I have looked at pkzip.com and zip.com, but nothing)

If you take a look at the source of the Titan Engine, they have a file that decompresses zip files. I couldn''t read their code too well when I tried though.
