HOw do i load a .jpg image instead of the regular .bmp or .tag image.

Use the Intel JPG library, very easy to use and it takes advantage of MMX/SSE/SSE2 for decoding and encoding the JPG''s.

alternatively use the openil library then u can load tga,png,jpg,bmp practically anything check out the glut/opengl appwizard project on my site
