@slowpid
i think your model is something i could work with. quite interesting. some texture and maybe things wont be so bad, lol.
Can I have that model?
btw, i dont have a specific game in mind. At this point I am only interesting in pushing the hardware to its limits, i.e. make tech demo.
...
maybe i should start an ultra low polygon model contest (i.e. what can you do with 120 polygons)

how low can polycount go
well, yeah, you can have the model. My only stimplulation is that my name not be connected with it to any degree [smile].
Thank you.
ill post something when i get somewhere.
(I first have to fix my math libraries and then i have to create a camera object (get projection working), and some object that hides the hardware sprite limitations of the game boy)

I created a low-poly soldier a while ago: screenshot. The soldier is 250 poly's, the weapon another 50. With some optimization (mainly on the hands, feet and face), I think it could be trimmed down to 200, perhaps 150. Any lower than that is going to look seriously sticky-figure. :)
For 30-60 poly limits, I'd probably go with a sprite/mesh combination, or totally with sprites. I mean, 60 polys allows you to create only 5 cubes...
