Good 3d model for testing purpose
As the subject says, I'm looking for a high detailed 3d model for testing purpose. What I'd really like, is a nice normal mapped 3D model so that I can play with the lighting system. If you already have a 3d model and you would like to share it with me, I assure I will use it only for testing my engine..I won't give it away, I won't use it in any commercial project. Bye and thank you
Stanford University has made available several high-res meshes. The Stanford bunny, etc.
NVIDIA's melody program can be used to generate normal maps and perform mesh simplification.
Edit: Heh, amazingly enough, the first screen shot on the melody page contains the Stanford bunny.

Thank you....I already knew of Stanford repository and I've download the happy Buddha model some days ago.
The problem was infact with melody...it doesn't load the happy buddha.ply correctly, maybe because it has an insane amount of triangles.
So I was looking for a high detailed model but not "so" high detailed :-)
Anyway, I think I've found something I can use. Someone in the programming forum gave me a good link.

I can lend you a normal mapped model (animated if you wish). Contact me rgalanakis@optonline.net on MSN or email.
