last week i bought the mastering maya 7 for my 3d things and it came with maya 7.0 learning edition and it seemed like it had everything i would need but when i started to look around i found out that there are some big things missing and i was wondering if someone knew how to fix these problems. For the exporter i can only export in .mp or a .fbl i have never heard of either of these so i was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to get these files as a .obj or maybe even a .dts. Also maya learning edition doesnt let you add third party exporters

Right. Those are limitations of the PLE edition of Maya. Why would anyone spend thousands of dollars on the full version, if you could get it in the back of a book?

well, start saving up for maya commercial i guess... either that or go to blender or some other free modeling program. however i have found that once you start using profesional modeling programs you can't go back to the free ones, the profesional ones just seem to have a more intuitive interface and a lot better workflow.
