Man, I thought this was supposed to be fun!

Since the implementation of the ratings system, the AH's use AP to take out their frustrations and not hurt their own rating score. Just ignore anything from AP and your experience here should be good. ;-)

Back on topic, I just checked out your site. Great stuff! The Miller Storm music was very well done. I was most impressed with the minor to major shifts in the JP Penney commercial and how the music fit with (more like carried) the visuals.

Although I wouldn't be needing anyone for my project anytime soon, I'm definitely keepin' my eye on ya. =) Good luck with your venture into the video game industry. I'm sure talent like yours would be a great asset to any project.

Very impressed.

I often find the need to come up with short pieces of free music to interest people watching DVD menus (free DVDs, mind you, for on-campus use), and may well have to borrow (and cite!) some of your free work.

Thank you for posting this here, and for offering your services!

Dr Gui, I sink into the abyss and think "what would scare the hell out of me?" that's all. Then I slam my head into the keyboards until I pass out. Thank you for the props!

Tony, I know whatever you put out is going to be fantastic, just let me burn a CD to listen.

Please, use the music!!! More on the way! Thanks for the crediting of the spots as well.

I will see if I have any happier music, but I think these first offerings will be more intense in nature.

welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anonymous is ruining the fun for everyone...but mostly himself. ^_^

NICE atonal stuff, bassman. *thumbs up* You been into composition since you were a kid?

*Edit*: Your rock piece needs the bass brought out more in my humble opinion. ^_^ Of course, you know what feel you were going for, but it'd be so sweeet...

I agree... but then again, I'm a bass player :P

Actually, and the end of that one is really odd. The last note seems to be cut off prematurely?

Thanks for the mix tip!

I just completed a re-wire of my studio, re-installing a 5.1 system and my sub (KRK systems) is in a new place, so I need to re-analyze my room.

I just installed a second computer linked via Digital I/O running an un-godly amount of instrument plug-ins, and I an just now getting used to the power.

I will take a look at a remix of that cut. (a little embarrassing being a bass player hearing there is not enough bass, ha ha.)

Better than anyone else? No, I am trying to humbly submit my work to people who value it, and I am grateful for the 5 offers so far, all pro's.

You could just..... be nice.

In commercials, as well as creating loop possibilities, you will notice that songs that fade have a 0.4 second fade. Old habits.

Great to hear from all these bass players! Bass is my main thing. When I was 18 (5,000 years ago), I was going to teach overflow students from BIT. But, I began producing records instead (mostly R&B, did a song for a soundtrack for Big Bully with the Temptations).

But now, video game music. Did I mention, free?

shameless plugging, lol.

Yeah, my primary instrument is guitar/bass. I don't like to toot my own horn, but I like to think I could hold my own against a majority of bassists out there.

Does the rock demo even *have* any bass on those non-bass-solo parts? (maybe it's just the heavy guitar covering it up?)

No, just a support. I went for a de-tuned guitar feel more than anything else.

I will have some bass tracks soon!

I started playing fretless bass in the late 70's when Disco/funk/R&B was in, so I cut my teeth on some great bass lines. I was in high school when I heard Jaco/weather report/stanley clark for the first time, and that was it.
I played hard fusion for many years, learned most of Jaco's stuff, and became increadibly fast at playing funk (finger and slapping), so I would go to NAMM shows and show off, get endorsements, etc. I was young, and full of it.
I just recently purchased 8 basses (fretted, fretless, 4 and 6 strings and my beloved upright again) and it feels great to play again. I am about 75% of what I used to be, so I am almost back!

How about you?
