I'm using Terragen and for some reason I cant see the sky (I put a check in the "sky" checkbox in the render part), what could cause this? Thanks.

I'd guess quality settings, strange camera angles or actually black sky (wrong lighting, wrong colours or the like).
Do you see the sky in example scenes with maxed out quality settings? What are you doing different?
